ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Kat Yeadon is the Bristol-based author and creator of The Bristol Crocodile. The idea for the character began back in 2014, when she remembered reading the news articles about a crocodile being spotted in the River Avon. The story fascinated Bristol, and it fascinated her too! As soon as Kat read about it, she was intrigued and thought: this would make a wonderful story for children.

Between being a busy mum, work, and everything else that comes with daily life, it took a while for that story to be written. But the idea never left Kat. It grew quietly in the background, waiting for the right moment. Finally, in 2025, The Bristol Crocodile children's book series made its debut, the first in what she hopes will become a much-loved series for families.
